Reptiles of Africa.
The colorful little guy (715) is about 9" long.
He was a lot more colorful, but kind of toned
it down by the time I found the camera. He was just
sunning himself outside the lodge room. I saw
someone else here post a picture of one with
the actual name of what it was called, but
I just looked in the photo album and apparently
didn't write it down like I intended. Oh well.
The crocs (719) are in the river where the
wildebeasts cross into Ngoro-ngoro crater
during migration.
(Ngoro-ngoro means "heart of hearts" I believe)
The crocs know where the free food comes.
The ghila monster (sp?) was a good 8 feet long
or so. He basically spanned the entire road. Took
forever to get out of the way, too.
Kenya and Tanzania, Summer 2000.
Scanned from 6x4 prints of 35mm film
with a not-too-good scanner.
Released to the Public Domain,
but I would appriciate hearing about
commercial use of the photos.
