[National Geographic Wallpaper] California Gull (캘리포니아갈매기; 미국 유타주의 州鳥)
Channel Islands, California
1997

Despite its name, the California gull is the state bird of Utah. A golden statue of the bird appears in Salt Lake City, Utah, to honor the gulls for helping rid the state of a grasshopper plague in the late 19th century.
