At first glance the banteng of Southeast Asia look like domestic cattle, and indeed many of these animals have been domesticated. Some have been crossed with other cattle such as the Asiatic zebu. Since wild banteng often interbreed freely with domestic banteng, hybrid characteristics may pass into the wild population. |
