Common name: Mjoberg's Toadlet
Description: This frog is light grey to brown on its back, with darker patches and several yellow or red patches. It has large parotoid glands (swollen glandular region behind the eye) that are yellow-red in colour. There is a bright orange-red patch in the groin and behind each knee. There is a prominent tubercle (lump) on the heel. The belly is smooth and whitish. The skin on the back is very warty and the toes are slightly webbed.
Size: 25 mm
Habitat: This frog lives in open flood plains and is often found under logs.
Call: A short "rasp" or "creak" sound.
Breeding: Occurs during summer, after rain.
Similar species: This frog can be distinguished from other species of Uperoleia by the tubercle on its heel.
