can you tell me what this is

my 3 yr old son found it on our wall and brought it in i think its a newt but wanted to be 100% so i dont confuse the lad lol it confused me because i remember newts id found having fin like tails an this did not

I'm think it is a young southern two-lined slamander.

does look very similair had a look at the pictures but what is it doin in england?? i looked at the southen & northen salamander site which said it couldnt live here
