PURPLE SWAMPHEN, KALAE (Porphyrio porphyrio)
DESCRIPTION:
A large glossy purple-blue bird with long red legs, and a bright red bill and frontal shield. Flicks tail while walking, making white undertail conspicuous. Chicks are black.
