Along the main road between Santa Marta and Riohacha,
there are 2 reserves of the Fundacion AWA.
AWA is a group of independant conservationists who buy
land and then unite it into one big reserve.
The biggest reserve is around
Quebrada Valencia
(here they have 500 ha between 0 - 500 m asl) .
Take a bus from Santa Marta direction Riohacha for 40 min.
Then walk 45 minutes on the trail along the creek.
