Black kites have a broad diet that include small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects, and they often eat their prey in flight. They also feed on carrion, and many inhabit villages and towns where rubbish piles provide a ready source of food. Some town-dwelling black kites even snatch food from market stalls. |
