I have been trying to get a decent photo of this duck for two weeks with
little success. I ordered a 70-300mm zoom lense that should take care
of the problem. Maybe next week, I can post a serious picture of this
 beautiful bird.

I am not a bird watcher and I found this duck interesting. At the local
wetlands park in my neighborhood, there are lots of geese and ducks, but
 only one of these.

If you are talking about the duck with the funny feathers on it's head, I have
been told that those are called "mongrels." It appears that mallards will mate
with about anything and this is a likely product of that situation.
