The blackspotted numbfish has a flattened, disc-shaped body formed by enlarged pectoral fins. The tail is short and stout, not whip-like like a stingray, and lacks a stinging barb. The dorsal side is usually brown or tan, sometimes with darker spots or blotches, while the ventral side is white. |
