I waited a long time for this mother to let us have a glimpse of her
newborn. I still feel sorry for her being put on display in such cramped
quarters like that. I think zoos have improved so much over the years. This
was taken in 1984.
It's blurry, and I'm sorry. She's moving (we only had a split second look)
and I didn't sharpen it because I was afraid I'd lose some of the baby's
expression.
