Phyllomedusa lemur, Slender Leaf Frog
Phyllomedusa lemur (the lemur leaf frog) is one of 31 Phyllomedusa anuran species that belong to the Hylidae family of tree frogs. Phyllomedusa lemur is listed as endangered, and can be found in Central and Southern America, including Panama, Columbia and Costa Rica. The population in Costa Rica and Panama have seen a 50% decline over the last three generations (one generation is approximately 5 years), and this is assumed to be due to Chytridiomycosis (www.globalamphibians.org). |
