I went back to the People's Park in the afternoon while Jo and and our new daughter had an afternoon nap.
Far less crowded than when we first went at the weekend, the park is a popular spot nonetheless and was again dotted with young couples and old ladies playing cards - the tango dancers and singers of the other day had gone home exhausted, but a big park in the centre of a big city will always have people in it. I would wager that not very many of those card players and young lovers had ever seen a middle-aged caucasian bloke laden down with binoculars and a camera peering into the trees before: however, everyone we'd met on the trip up to this point had been either indifferent or curious, but never unfriendly, and today was no different...
