The blackleg tortoiseshell or large tortoiseshell (Nymphalis polychloros) is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found in Europe, northern Africa, and western Asia.
The small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) is a colourful Eurasian butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is found throughout temperate Europe, Asia Minor, Central Asia, Siberia, China, Mongolia, Korea and Japan. The small tortoiseshell is the national butterfly of Denmark.
The comma butterfly (Polygonia c-album) is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It is found in northern Africa and across Europe from Portugal through Asia.
The silver-washed fritillary (Argynnis paphia) is a common and variable butterfly found over much of the Palaearctic ecozone – Algeria, Europe, temperate Asia and Japan. |
