The Egyptian Bushy-tailed Jird (Sekeetamys calurus makrami) is a subspecies of a unique gerbil in the Gerbillinae subfamily. The genus Sekeetamys contains only one species. This species is found in Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, the makrami subspecies is found in the northeast rocky deserts of Egypt.
