The great ramshorn snail (Planorbarius corneus) is a relatively large species of air-breathing freshwater snail, an aquatic pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Planorbidae. The shell of this species appears to be dextral in coiling, even though it is in fact sinistral or left-handed.
The red-rimmed melania (Melanoides tuberculata) is a species of freshwater snail with an operculum, a parthenogenetic, aquatic gastropod mollusk in the family Thiaridae. The common name comes from the presence of reddish spots on the otherwise greenish-brown shell. This species is native to northern Africa and southern Asia.
The cherry shrimp (Neocaridina davidi var. red) is a variety of freshwater shrimp from Taiwan which is commonly kept in aquariums. The natural colouration of the shrimp is green-brown, however the red morph is more frequently sold. |
