The rose gall wasp of the family Cynipidae is a plant parasite. It lays its eggs inside the stem of a wild rose bush, which causes characteristic pincushion galls to form on the plant. The wasps are so small that a microscope is needed to identify them. It is often easier to identify them by the shape of the gall they produce. |
