Apolemichthys xanthotis, common names yellow-ear angelfish and Red Sea angelfish, is a species of marine fish in the family Pomacanthidae. Apolemichthys xanthotis lives in most parts of the Red Sea, from the Gulf of Aqaba in the north, down through the Gulf of Aden in the south. It is also known to live in the waters of Socotra Island in Yemen. Recently, it has been found in the Andaman Sea by western Thailand. After the El Niño in 1998, a transient population was discovered in Kenyan waters. Order: Perciformes, Family: Pomacanthidae, Genus: Apolemichthys, Species: Apolemichthys xanthotis (Fraser-Brunner, 1950).
